Grants & Infrastructure Development Updates
At Hancock County Water & Sewer District we are committed to keeping our community informed about the initiatives we pursue to enhance our infrastructure and improve our shared environment. We are excited to share updates on several grant and government funding applications that align with our mission to promote sustainable development and essential services.
Grant and Government Fund Applications
1. Central Restore - We have applied for funding from (MDEQ) Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality to support our Central Lift Station relocate project. This initiative aims to restore and preserve vital environmental assets, ensuring a healthier and more resilient community for generations to come.
2. Port Bienville Water Tower and Expansion of Water Lines - Through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), we are seeking funds to construct a new water tower at the port and extend water lines to connect to this new tower. This project is essential for improving water distribution, supporting community growth, and enhancing emergency response capabilities.
3. Port Bienville AC Sewer Pipe Replacement - We have applied for funding from the Gulf of Mexico Alliance State Agencies (GOMASA) to replace aging sewer pipes at Port. This upgrade will improve sanitation infrastructure, reduce environmental risks, and support local economic development.
What These Projects Mean for Our Community
• Enhanced Infrastructure: Reliable water and sewer systems are the backbone of community health and economic growth.
• Economic Growth: Improved infrastructure attracts businesses and supports job creation.
We value transparency and are dedicated to engaging with the community throughout these processes. Updates on these projects will be shared as they progress.
